Stage 1: Junior IT Auditor (0-2 Years)

Typical Titles: IT Audit Associate, Junior IS Auditor, Staff Auditor

What You'll Do:

Execute audit test procedures under supervision
Document findings and evidence
Assist with audit planning
Learn frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001)

Skills to Develop: Technical writing, attention to detail, basic IT infrastructure knowledge, SQL basics

Certifications to Pursue: CISA (start studying now even if you don't have the experience yet — you can earn it after 5 years)

Stage 2: Senior IT Auditor (3-5 Years)
